PC World Mobile Phones
PC World is one of the biggest chains of computer and electronics stores in Britain. The first store was opened in Croydon in
late 1991, and has been expanding since. There are more than a hundred and fifty stores throughout the UK and in Ireland. Sales have topped 1,600
million in just one recent fiscal year.
PC World offers a wide range of laptops, PCs, peripherals and other electronics. You can buy components there, case, as well
as mobile phones. However, for such a large store, the selection available when it comes to PC World mobile phones is a little disappointing.
A search for the word "mobile" on PC World's website turns up only two options, both BlackBerry products. For £249.99, you can
purchase the BlackBerry 8100 Handheld Computer. It includes a digital camera, web browser, expandable memory, instant and text messaging,
organizer applications, and mobile phone capabilities.
This mobile phone comes with the BlackBerry operating system, 64 Mb of internal flash memory, an integrated QWERTY key board
and a 240x260 display. AThe build in mp3 and mp4 player allow access to media on the go. The included battery will last for up to twenty-two days
on standby, and a micro SD memory card reader and speakers are integrated into the slim, light design.
For a little more - £349.99, you can purchase the BlackBerry 8800 Handheld Computer, which offers many of the same features as
the above phone, but with some improvements. The screen is larger, with a 320x240 colour display, and the phone includes Bluetooth capabilities.
GPS is also included.
These are both great products. However, it seems unusual that PC World wouldn't offer a few more options when it comes to full
feature mobile phones. Most computer retailers that also carry electronics offer a variety of choices in their mobile section. At PC World, the
products available are high in quality, but you don't get a lot of selection. This is a common trait noted about the chain, which doesn't offer a
wide selection of individual computer components, either.
If you're looking for a good BlackBerry mobile phone, then PC World mobile phones might be a good choice for you. After all,
this retailer has stores almost everywhere, and the devices they carry are packed with features. However, if you prefer a little more choice when
shopping for a mobile, you may be disappointed by the lack of stock that PC World has to offer.
